Two-Faced

This piece was originally painted to represent a few things:

- dealing with constant episodic mood swings

- the identity confusion experience of a mixed-race/biracial person

- feeling as though everyone's idea of you is drastically different than who you are


I was a senior in high school when I painted this, and of course, was dealing with identity crises like most peers my age, but some of these still resonate with me & that's why this will always be one of my favorites. I painted it using the Winsor & Newton Cotman palette & referenced a few pictures of myself.
